🏦 What is a Recurring Deposit?

A Recurring Deposit (RD) is a savings option in India where you deposit a fixed amount every month for a fixed period and earn interest. At maturity, you receive the total amount plus interest.

🧮 Formula Used

Maturity = Monthly Deposit × Number of Months + Interest

Where:

  • Monthly Deposit = Amount deposited every month
  • Number of Months = Tenure
  • Interest = Calculated as per bank formula

💡 Example

For a monthly deposit of ₹5,000 at 7% p.a. for 24 months:

  • Maturity Amount: ₹1,29,150
  • Total Interest: ₹9,150
